I need to install a new mouse. Don't know much about hardware installations. Do I have to remove/uninstall my old mouse, i.e. unplug it first? Or can I just unplug old mouse and plug new mouse in? Current mouse is Intellimouse Optical, new one is Intellimouse Explorer w/tilt wheel. Do I need to remove software from old mouse also? Should pc be off when I install/uninstall? I have Windows XP, HP pc.

Babsie:

Unplug your old Mouse & insert the new mouse.

Did you get a Installation Diskette with the new mouse. If so, insert it in the Drive & follow instructions on the screen.

If you did not get CD-ROM or 3 1/2 Floppy Diskette with your Mouse then:

Go to Start/Control Panel

On the Control Panel Window click the 'ADD Hardware' Icon & follow instructions on the screen to install the new Mouse.
