Butter
There are several ways of finding the Details

Both by Windows and 3rd party programs
DownLoad install Crap Cleaner from www.CCleaner.com which will help tidy your computer up (of old programs remnants and useless links.) Several posts in this section on How to set it up and Use it

And on the Home page under the title banner is
some basic info about your computer and on the end is what sort of Graphics card is fitted to the Computer
Mine is a Nvidia Geforce FX 5200
A bit dated but it runs most of the latest games

Mine says AMD Athlon 4 processor
256 MB Ram
Radeon 7000 Series
Is this a good one, how can i download a better one, i'm trying to play a game demo "The Silver
Lining" and it keeps crashing on me and the forums say that it could be my video card.
Thanks for the help

Says on the game specs
quote:
3D video card (either NVidia GeForce 5200FX or higher, or ATI Radeon 8500 or higher)

512MB of RAM
130MB of available disk space

These are both trouble if you are short of drive space?and/ or only 256MB RAM Frown
I see your issues. You need a stick of RAM (memory) to run this Frown
They are inexpensive (about 30-50 dollars) and can be fitted by yourself or a computer savvy friend in 5 minutes

Need to take the old memory stick to the computer store to match (Wrong one fitted can burn out the memory board!)

The Radeon 7000 Series is only a 64 MB Memory card
They want an 8500 series card to run this. These I see have 128 MB Memory (Might get a Cheap one secondhand for $40-50?) The Higher the Memory the more it can cope with(moving things around the screen) Mine has 256 MB Memory

So,that means its unplayable on your computer unless you spend some Cash on Updating it Frown

Other things
You cannot load a graphics card but the Graphics driver can be improved on Smile

If the picture is Breaking up or ripping that is the driver (can live with that sometimes) Roll Eyes .If It barely generates a screen Picture ...Then that is the card is too old to cope ($75ish to replace New)
also the DirectX driver updated To Version 9.0c

Deal with the RAM board issue first then the Graphics board

Do install the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 program it helps with online games in the future(Small program update)

Sorry about That, Frown
