A good interview in yesterday's Daily Telegraph with Don Henley of the Eagles. Very honest and self appraising about the Seventies and the band and the times. He even appositely quotes Charles Dickens(!) The Eagles, I learned, are responsible for "the best selling LP ever". The interviewer (Neil McCormick) liked the new work a lot, but the three other reviews I've read over the past couple of days since the new stuff was released have been rather less enthusiastic. So I've not bought it, but should I? I mean, have YOU heard it?

I saw the Eagles live on stage at the Rainbow Theatrre in London the first time they came to the UK. They were excellent live, superb harmonies etc.but only performed four otr five son,gs that day as they were opening for Neil Young. This was before they made the big time.
I've just got the new double album "Long Road Out Of Eden". There are 21 tracks (including a bonus song for this, the UK release). I don't know where the negative reviewsd came from. Personally, I recommend it to you and to everyone. Some good, tight, controlled guitar work and some real rock interludes too from Joe Walsh. The whole collection is a really good listen, some of it reminiscent of the old country rock sound we all remember and good use too of additional instruments and thoughtful arrangements. Some of it is hauntingly beautiful, other parts bring protests against environmental issues and the world now. Buy it. Well worth waiting all these years for!
