Just had to share this with fellow rock fans. If you're a fan of the man and haven't yet got the brand new live concert from way back (it was recorded on stage in between the release of "After the Gold Rush" and "Harvest"), then beg, steal or borrow the new CD/DVD entitled "Live at Massey Hall". It's genuinely brilliant.

Hi! I've just seen this - thanks for responding.
I can't really compare the two albums. Prairie Wind is a studio recording with electric/acoustic/slide/bass guitars and very evident drums, backing vocals, harmony vocals, keyboards, brass etc., etc, whereas the new release has Neil alone on stage with acoustic guitars (one at a time!) or piano. Also, it's a very old recording (over a third of a century old) but masterfully put onto compact disc with impressive vocals. Also, it's superbly produced.
Yes, I like Prairie Wind a lot, but as Neil hilself says on the opening track (The Painter) "If you follow every dream you might get lost", which I suppose is true, so let me stick with my original recommendation and urge you to give it a try!

Good points, it's already on my Amazon wish-list. Remastered stuff is one of the best products of the new technology, IMO. I took a chance and got a CD of Amelita Galli-Curci, the original tracks came from 1930 and earlier, and it is just excellent. I was so pleasantly surprised. It's not just her voice, but the intense feeling she managed to convey, that makes it unique. It's wonderful that these have been preserved -- and actually enhanced.

Thanks for the heads-up, Colin.
