Red Sambar Sika White Tail Wapiti (Elk)
I believe that there are also some hybrids of red and Wapiti.
Sorry but can't tell you what sub species of white tail that we have here though.
07-13-02, 12:50 AM neoskullstomper well throughout the USA i have no clue but i know if missouri that we have whitetail (which i love to hunt..see my post on biggest deer {whitetail}) and we have mule deer...although there are some elk i think but i'm not for sure(my dad and i saw one hunting, although i think it escaped from the elk farm north of our spot......i don't think that they naturally live in missouri but hey...i don't know!)....there also might be more but i am not going to say for sure...BUT WHITETAIL AND MULEDEER ARE DEFINATLY IN MISSOURI! big grin big grin big grin big grin
07-14-02, 05:45 PM game42r42 We have Red Deer in the US also, but they are kept behind tall fences in all the areas that I know of. They have the ability to cross breed with different species and cause some problems. In the west I don't think that at this time you can even aquire them any more. We have a few Fallow Deer, some were in the wild and shot off or died, Fallow Deer can be kept in captivity with proper fencing and can be imported for captive purposes from the western half of the US only.
