I inheirited a Mossberg 20 ga. pump.

Is the "safety" on when the red dot shows? Or off?

According to this image


found on the Mossberg site it would appear that the red dot only shows when the safety switch is pushed forward into the "Off" position. The above image was taken from the Safety Button and Action Release Locations page.
