Is there a difference between a cantaloupe and a muskmelon? Does it just depends on where you're from, as to what you call them? Thanks.

You know, I thought they were two different melons until I saw This Site

They are apparently of the cantaloupe family also.

Thanks Giz. I had only heard the term 'muskmelon' in the south. What made me wonder if they were different is because I seen an ad from Kroger advertising them as muskmelons. It was such a shock because Kroger had always before advertised them as cantaloupes. In order for the sudden change, I thought they must be different. Maybe it was just a good ole southern boy that did the ad. Smile
