Eailer today, I opened up a container of sour cream we had in the refridgerator. It has only been opened a week and the EXPD is Sept.11,2007.

I stirred up and put some ontop of my potatoe pancakes. I took a bite and thought it tasted odd. So I took a bit of just the sourcream and it tasted sweet, almost like cheesecake filling, and was almost as thick.

The brand was Tillamook ( a brand only sold in the nortwest) and I have never had problems w/ the brand before.

Could it have been bad? I've never had this problem before w/ Sourcream tasting sweet.

The last thing we used it for was homemade tacos. No sweet stuff there.

Thanks Smile

Oh boy Esencia...I've been thinking about this since I saw your post.

I cannot think of anything that would make it suddenly seem sweet, especially if it's well within its "good till" period and if YOUR sweetie didn't spike it with a bit of sugar Wink

Since it's Tillamook, you may want to give them a call since they're close to you...and just let them know this happened and see if they have any idea why. I think this would perplex me enough to let them know.

I'm certain they would replace the sour cream if nothing else, but if would encite them to check out the processing area for anything odd.

They didn't have a phone number on the website that I found, but can be emailed through the site: http://www.tillamookcheese.com/contactus.asp

If you do, be sure and let us know what they said or did! It's amazing what one can accomplish if they bring something to a manufactures attention Smile Most people would just toss it out and not pursue it...I'm not one of those people however LOL.
