From Wikipedia -

Ah-So is a line of Asian sauces and marinades from Allied Old English, Inc., Port Reading, NJ. Their Ah-So Chinese Style Barbecue sauce in the green bottle is perhaps their most popular item in the Ah-So line. This garlicky, sweet, sticky, and brightly red-colored marinade is popular in the Northeast United States (New England) and can be found in most major grocery stores. A convenient plastic squeeze bottle version also exists. This sauce falls in into the American Chinese cuisine genre of Chinese cooking and aims to replicate the sweet smokey flavor of boneless spareribs found on the menus of most Chinese take-out restaurants.

I'll put some of AnswerPool's crack research team on the case tomorrow. We'll figure it out.

Allied Old English, Inc. accepts mail orders by the case only (12 jars of the same exact item, no mixed cases); shipping and handling costs are $7.50 per case. You can order online using your credit card by clicking the button above, or send us your order by regular first-class mail.

There is also a much cheaper product that is probably very similar. It's handled by Dollar Tree in this area. I'll find out more and post again. Another option is using hoisin sauce. I have no doubt that it will be very close to what you want, and, again, much cheaper. (It's hard to beat the Dollar Tree on prices, however. Everything is a dollar.)

Or you could try my uncle's brush on steak sauce. (Yes, I am serious.)

Shacha sauce (also spelled sa cha sauce) or paste is a Chinese condiment primarily used in Fujian, Chiuchow, and Taiwanese cuisines. It is made from soybean oil, garlic, shallots, chilis, brill fish, and dried shrimp. It has a savory and slightly spicy taste.

The ingredient has multiple uses:

* as a base for soups
* as a rub for barbecued meats
* as a seasoning for stir fry dishes
* as a component for dipping sauces, for example as used in hot pot meals
--------
Siu haau sauce is the primary barbecue sauce used in Chinese and Cantonese cuisine. It is used during the barbecue-cooking process as opposed to a flavoring sauce after the food is made.

Kingfisher Oriental BBQ Sauce is what I get from DOllar Tree (who does something like an online business; you can order a case or some products, but you have to pick it up at the store.)

The link below may help you locate a Dollar Tree near you:
