I think the link you gave is saying that a 1951 florin is worth approximately 2 to 8 pounds. If you scroll down the page on the left hand side it gives the face value which is 2s (2 shillings)then the next column is the year, there are two for 1951,then the next columns give prices according to condition,at the top of the page are the various code for condition,(EF) means Extremely Fine and (UNC) means Uncirculated (No wear).Florins were quite common up until the end of the 1960's (although we refered to them as 2 bob bits!)In 1971 when decimalisation came to Britain they were replaced by the 10p coin.I think there is something great about pre-decimal coinage, the look of the coins, the names - florin, half a crown, farthing, sovereign. It may not have great monetary value, but it's certainly worth keeping. VivienneHa, I really appreciate it! If I've done my math correctly, that means $3 - $12 in U.S. currency (at $1.53 to the Pound). We were just curious about this, having never seen this coin before.

some of the two bob pieces are worth more than their face value, i am not sure if it was the pre-1950 ones or pre 1951 ones that were made of a high percentage of silver.
