These folks might be able to help you out. You might also inquire at the local GOOD yarn store.. a place that carries handspun yarns and caters to spinners and weavers or at a specialty quilting shop... the ladies who keep these places in business are an amazing source of information about pretty much any non-electric means of dealing with textiles and most of these stores have a bulletin board on which you could post your request.

I found this site article, different Model# which may be of help in sourcing parts
quote:
The portable "New Queen" sewing machine manufactured by National in the early 1900s. The machine was available with either a cast iron or wooden base
also (much earlier model)
quote:
The "Home Queen" was a badged version of National's Model Vindex B Top Tension. Sears' main competitor, Montgomery Ward, carried the exact same model under the "Brunswick" label. Sears sold this model from about the late 1890s through early 1900s
thank you ive been to those . this darn thing is going to drive me mad but im going to get these parts if i have to rome the earth with ametal detector he he i may have found one on ebay but not sure yet. theres not a lot of info on these things. maybe somebody else will have some ideas.

The White Sewing Machine Company is still going strong today! Have you tried contacting them? Even though they probably won't still be selling the parts for the old machines, they could very well know of people that do.
Dodge Clear this up for us ..when you say shuttle is worn is that the moving foot or where the needle is attached to? And B) do you think its the gearing or the Component or Both that are worn?

karrow no i have not contacted them i will give them a shout and see if they can help me. there is no model #s or anything like that. i think its from the early 1800's
bedstor no its where you put the bobbin of tread into it
no has nothing to do with gearing. what it does is slide back and forth and and what it slides on is the machines casting the needle goes down right beside it. thank you ill keep on looken. i just got the wood all reoiled so it looks a 100% better now

My wife is pressing me to restore her mother's Wanamaker Special sewing machine. I have learned that it is actually a Vindex B - Top Tension unit. Can you tell me where you found parts?

i was looking at ebay and finaly found the right parts. thats were i would look but be carful and call them to make sure and also get as many different pics as you can. one part i got cost $13 bucks and its the wrong one. so i have a part that is of no use to me but somebody can use it one day. it took a while for me to finaly find the parts. but well worth the wait. do a lot of research on your machine and you will be better at finding parts. i did lots of google search's . on parts #s and serial #s ect. by the way the part i have is the bobbin winder if some body is interested i can post pics or send them to ya or something.i have to go read aps rules now and what we can do here and where. good luck with your machine
