When I got pregnant for our daughter we gave our son a baby doll to take care of, to get him use to the idea of a baby. He likes to be "Daddy" and feed it and change its diapers.

The problem is that it only came with one diaper, and the diaper ripped shortly after we brought it home. Even the smallest diapers we can buy at the store are WAY too big--she's got a size 3 diaper on that even folded down comes up to her chin.

Does anyone know how to make pretend diapers for a baby doll that don't use pins and can be removed and replaced? I'd like to make three or four that he can interchange. I can sew and kinda do crafts.

Thanks!

I'd use a real cloth diaper, or maybe just a white dish towel, and sew on velcro for the closures.

You can buy teeny tiny disposables made for preemies, but I think you have to get them through the hospital. When my brother bought them for his daughter....born at 3 lbs 15 oz 23 years ago...they were about the size of a small envelope.

Handkerchiefs or cloth napkins can be folded to a perfect size for a baby doll diaper. Put the handkerchief on just as you would a cloth diaper and knot the sides. (You can buy thin cloth napkins at the dollar store) You can also try a thin washcloth if you sew on velcro. Smile

Ah thank you guys!

I think I'll go with your suggestion Clare as I don't want to invest a lot of money in this (and disposible diapers are EXPENSIVE!). We don't have a dollar store though so I'll have to seek out some handkerchiefs!

Thanks again guys Smile
