Does anyone know if Studio or Singer still make a sock knitter other than the plastic toy ones? I found several places that sell antique restored models, but we're interested in a new one.

Round sock knitting machines were manufactured mostly around the turn of the 20th century. Today they are collectible and there is a national organization of collectors who clean and refurbish the machines. Some round machines are rare. Most owners of round sock knitting machines are interested because of the novelty value, rather than actually using them to make large quantities of socks.

Thank you. My sister saw them in the Studio catalogue when she got her first knitting machine, not that many years ago. I did find some places that offered refurbished ones, but we were hoping they still made them.
