Has anyone ever used the Handy Stitch or there also is Singer Handy Stitch. If it really works well it would be great for what I am doing. I saw some on ebay and was just curious if they really do work.

My husband is very tall so I sew a extension about 1 1/2 foot to the end of my sheets. So that they stay put under the mattress while you sleep. He pulls the sheets and blanklets up and wants them right around his chin and they come un tucked. I also do the blanklet this way. If this Handy Stitch would work it would be much easier to sew with it stretched out on my bed rather than gathering it up and taking to my big machine.

I would be appreciate any input. Thanks

Is this what you are talking about? I had a singer mini machine and it was a big piece of junk, it always bunged up and got tangled, it was great for doing tiny jobs like a skirt hem or pillow sham but that was about it, I ended up selling mine in a garage sale.

I think that is what I am talking about. It is small and you hold it in your hand to sew. There is two kinds yours was the Singer and there is the Handy stitch also. Well maybe I will pass on it. Thanks for the information!

My wife recently purchased a Handy Stitch and it works very well for her, except when it comes to sewing thick, heavy fabrics. For buttons it works fine, and would work with sheets and blankets as well. She has had very good luck with it for smaller things. Hers is the regular Handy Stitch, and not the Singer brand.

Have you tried the fabric glues that they have out now? I use them a lot and they work just great. You just have to remember to wash the sizing out of a new product before applying the fabric glue. It sticks really good and lasts a long time and will stand a lot of washings without coming apart. Don't forget the washing part though.
