I want to make a draft blocker . . . you know the long stuffed worm looking things you put in front of your doors to block drafts. I don't know what to stuff it with. Does anyone know? Thanks B

I've never made one, but found several online with a polyester fill and a sand base. Sand would seem to do quite nicely as long as it won't "leak" out! I hope you hear from other members who have made one before.

I've had these before that were filled with beans or rice...a heavier filler that will keep it sitting where it's put!

A draft-blocker is a great idea! Big Grin
The rubber thresholds and plastic that you put on the bottom of the door just wear out too fast!

Some homemade fillings to consider:
Old nylon panti-hose stockings /tights
Cotton-yarn waste/cuttings
Stuffing out of an old cushion, other than foam crumbs
Avoid Polystyrene in beads,You have to make an inner liner to retain them and they make a mess if the outer cover has even a small rip Red Face

We used to have one filled with rice but the dog got a hold of it. I didn't have the money to replace it just then so I got creative. I took an old scarf and stitched it into a tube. Then I packed it with a bunch of plastic grocery bags. It works really great!
