Could someone please help me find some inexpensive plastic frames (5 X 7 and 8 X 10) for my needlework? (I have quite a few projects done to send in with my Xmas presents.)

The cheapest frames I know of are the clear plastic ones. They come in all sizes and with a mat you can keep the needlework from being squashed. The frames are around $2-3 and the mats might be the same. Which can still be expensive.
Those plastic box frames are nice for high loft stuff.
Did you try to check out the second hand stores?
There might be some where you'll be able to replace the "art" with your work.

That is something you can bargain shop. Many stores will put various frames on a clearance isle. That's where I would start!
