Sorry if this isn't the right forum to post this in, feel free to move it to a more appropriate one if you wish.

Hubby and I recently aquired many old dishes. Some appear to be VERY old.

Does anyone know of a website that would assist in helping us identify these dishes based on the markings on the back?

Thanks

I was watching Antiques Road Show on PBS one day and I started thinking.

I start do serches using Yahoo. I would put the name from the back of the plate in the serch box to see what poped up. I found that worked fairly well. You might have to serch the site after you open it.

Then I did the same serch on e-bay.

I found several interesting pieces we have have some $$$ value to them.

Yes eBay is a good site, you can see what other people are putting a price on and figure they have already done some research....Also look at the backs of the dishes for the stamp and go to the library and look for books on antique dishes or a book on that particular item...that will give you an estimate on it's worth.
