Some astonishingly Bad News Numbers in The UK over the past few days and Thankfully nothing concerns me or my friends
Lowest first...
The England Soccer team do not Qualify for the European Championships By being beaten 3-2 by a decent Croatian Team.On their Home ground(in North London) David Beckham plays (as Sub) but its only on the "form" played in a practice match played as a kick about yet the England Soccer Coach flew half way across the World to see him play in LA!! And He's not Played for any time for his New team LA Galaxy due to Injury!! NOTE Reason? Beckham must Play as he Must get his 100th appearance in an England shirt. Is on 99 with this appearance.(against allegedly a beatable side) The likes of Bob Laz will have a field day with a story like this
Next up is a guy called Peter Tobin (Google this on Google News) This is bad enough as it stands He is locked up for Life for Murder(in Scotland),yet now Police have discovered at an address in Brighton, on the South coast (Where he lived) 2 more bodies ...and theres more, he travelled around the Country as a Handyman and Police have found depending on what you read no less than 12 but as many as 15 unsolved Missing person Incidents /Murders that could tally with stays at those locations(SO FAR!!!) And by a strange coincidence Both He and Fred West both lived at the same time in Glasgow!! Fred West also was a handyman, and One wonders if Tobin can go past West in Notority? And It got us thinking was there a chance they bumped into each other? That is a deadly duo
Next up is Northern Rock (Link to earlier topic with details) today an American investment Company are planning to reputedly offer 10 pence per share to buy out the Firm and Repay Many Billions in Loans back to the UK Government (think its 20 Billion pounds?!!!) 15 Billion up front and 5 Billion in 2011, And On top of this Try to get the Business running again!!
For our American Friends 20 Billion is 20 followed by 12 zeros (English method)
And the Banks report for the same Month say they have taken record takings. No doubt by the people transferring all their Money out of Northern Rock to other banks!
Now you can trust the Government with your affairs and Security. Well they are really up to their neck in the Brown stuff or more? In the Uk this week when the National Audit Office wanted data off the Inland Revenue & Customs(Tax office) All they wanted was 2 files which on home computers we would transfer to disk, floppy or email,Or being very important Give to a trusted courier to take to the other location. But the IR has to save money you know? They cannot split the file (or won't copy?) So they Package the 2 CDs (Unknown if its the Master or a copy(not said) and this beggars belief give it to a mailman in the Normal collection in an unrecorded package and It does not arrive at the Audit office!! Its gone walkies somewhere between the 2 locations!

Surely the "American" billion, of the nine zero variety, is being used for the articles. The twelve zero variety do not make a whole lot of sense, either based on the size of the company or on Britain's support capacity as a nation.

Bedstor, As I understand it, this is a huge personal security issue in the UK. It was just covered on the Canadian news tonight. The discs should have been encrypted, but were not. The Child Benefit data on them includes name, address, date of birth, National Insurance number and, where relevant, bank details of 25 million people. Chancellor Alistair Darling said, "there was no evidence the data had gone to criminals" - but the truth is, he doesn't have a clue where the discs have gone, does he?
As a parent, the thing that would concern me most, is the possibility of the personal details of my children falling into the wrong hands. I'm sure there are a lot of very angry people in the UK tonight.
and it could be from this IR office ? most central I could find (they have several branches around and in London serving the Capital or other Departments such as Customs http://uk.local.yahoo.com/Greater_London/London/Inland_...7836357-e-44418.html The other location is about 1 mile to the South zoom out and you'll see the Victoria district
Question? Why mail it? A Messenger can do the distance in less than 10 minutes

Disaster ! It' a national disgrace. Millions of innocent men, women and children caused to fret and all through the incompetence of some official in charge and a minor employee.
Yes, that first goal was a gross error by the new goalkeeper, the second was a simple case of poor defending when the Croats sprang the offside trap, the third was when our back four were too far from the four in front and nobody closed the scorer down, and as for the team manager......!
The discs were "Posted" From the Child Benefit Support office in Washington Co Durham NOT London as earlier reported which is a distance of 300 miles So People, somewhere along that route there is this little Jiffy bag (padded envelope) and hundreds of people looking for it
And Yes, The Mail bags still get thown in the wrong pile and go miles off course still Despite being tagged clearly and also they get tagged with the wrong label
For London It Could be in Londonderry...Northern Ireland?!
Thats where I'd be looking first if it was a mislabelled sack In the normal course if a scenario like this had happened(and detected) relabelled, and put back on the righ route I estimate it would arrive at its intended destination and delivered just over a week later.
