Appears to be a double standard here...A man causes a miscarriage when he slips an abortion drug on his mistress. Yet a woman takes the drug to induce miscarriage, it's legal.

I don't see any double standard here. If a woman is pregnant and chooses to end that pregnancy, one would hope that she would consult with medical professionals, and the father of the baby. However, ultimately, the decision is hers. If that same woman is pregnant, and decides to keep her child, it is unacceptable for anyone to endanger either her life, or that of her unborn child. The actions of the defendant here, suggest an attitude of control and ownership over the woman. As your link says, "These allegations are devious, diabolical and disturbing."
Hi Hippo, I think it goes like this: 1. egg, 2. embryo, 3. fetus, 4. baby. #4 is able to live independently of the host mother. from 1 to 3 it's her choice.

Regardless of your personal beliefs or opinions; murder is illegal in this country. Abortion is not.
It's not a double standard at all. You can do something to yourself that's okay but it's wrong to do it to someone else when it's unknown to them. If he had wanted to rip his own insides out in some way, that would've been cool.
If she had done it to herself, it still is murder, but it's legal-murder. If she had done it to another woman without her knowledge, it's murder, but it's not legal. That's my point and I'm sticking by it.

Just as it's not a crime for a woman to take sleeping pills, but it IS a crime to slip sleeping powder into someone's drink, what this man did was clearly criminal. He should be charged with something, although I think attempted murder is going a bit far. They're most probably just trying to make an example out of the guy. I don't oppose abortion. I believe it's a necessary evil. But, it must be a matter of choice. This guy took that away from her.
It is apparent that frank is against partial birth abortions where the baby can live outside of the womb. Thank goodness for progress.
Who speaks for the unborn child? It is, after all, a different life with a different body from its mother. The child has its own brain waves, its own heartbeat, and it may even have a different blood type. It is human life.
