Wasn't Glasgow a 'capital of culture'?The selectors certainly know how to select !

Presumably the title brings European money with it, courtesy of the European Union.
Seriously, Liverpool has improved greatly since the days of the Beatles. It
is a cultured city now. ( Ignore Ken Dodd, famous Liverpudlian saying "Why, if they steal the wheels of your car you'll find it on stacked volumes of Encyclopaedia Brittanica, not bricks !"

)It has the Liverpool Philharmonic, now flourishing again, in that wonderful Art Deco concert hall.It has a really lively, less formal, cultural 'scene'. It's got a lot going for it. And the people..well, they are incomparable!
Glasgow is a surprise to newcomers too. Much more agreeable than Edinburgh, but Liverpool is better.
