WASHINGTON - Attacks on U.S. and Iraqi troops and Iraqi civilians jumped sharply in recent months to the highest level since Iraq regained its sovereignty in June 2004, the Pentagon told Congress on Monday in the latest indication of that country’s spiraling violence.
In a report issued the same day Robert Gates took over as defense secretary, the Pentagon said that from mid-August to mid-November, the weekly average number of attacks increased 22 percent from the previous three months. - MSNBC -------- Yea, we got'em on the run now.

Don't sweat it...
in a few short weeks the Democrats take over the Congress and they will turn around things in a hurry...
or at least that what most Americans thought when they voted them in.
We'll see what, if anything, changes .
By the time the Democrats finish their hearings,it will be 2008...
Bush will be out and Hillary or Obama will be in ...and we'll see what,if anything,happens.
Like I said earlier ,"Don't hang by your thumbs in the meantime".
I think most Americans voted the Democrats in because the feeling was, "How much more can they screw things up?" Of course, maybe the people just got tired of seeing the Republicans get indicted and felt it was the Democrat's turn.

I think Hippolip's prediction may be close to the truth. It could take more than the next eight to ten years to undo some of the wreckage the present administration has managed to accomplish. Doing absolutely nothing would be an improvement.
