Hi Gang:

I think most of us would agree that Oprah is one of the most influential people in this country.

But ,with the upcoming Presidential Election ,Oprah has a huge dilemma.

Does she support Hillary because Oprah's a woman???

Or does she support Obama because she's Black???

If she supports both ,she still has to select one eventually,in whch case either the Women or the Blacks will be angry at her.

How does Oprah win???

Or does she stay nuetral and support neither one in which case both factions will be angry with her.

How does Oprah handle this one???

hippolips

Isn't it possible that there is no dilemma? Oprah could be a republican, neither candidate might gain the nomination, she might not be influenced by either consideration, she might vote on other issues entirely. Roll Eyes

I am not following everything all tha closely, but aren't both of these candidates Democrats? So, in the end, all she has to do is wait until the Democrat party chooses one and THEN she will support that candidate who wins the Democrat Party nomination against the Republican candidate.

My guess is that she will decide which candidate most closely fits her idea of the ideal president. Strangely enough, many use this method.

I am a white woman, but I prefer Obama to Hillary. I'm not going to support someone just because they happen to be a white woman too. Roll Eyes It is my belief that most people don't vote for a candidate based on whether or not he is the same gender/race as the voter is. Would you only vote for a white man, since you're a white man? Please. Oprah will support whomever she prefers politically based on issues and how well she thinks the candidate will lead, because she's an intelligent woman. And she doesn't have a problem; she's not a politician, and there's no need for her to announce her preference unless she wishes to.
