A brain tumor is serious business, and I do not yet know what his prospects are. Godspeed to the Senator and his family.

Few have so faithfully or passinately served their country. I hope he has an opportunity to once again command the Senate floor.

From Wikipedia: Gliomas cannot be cured. The prognosis for patients with high-grade gliomas is generally poor, and is especially so for older patients. Of 10,000 Americans diagnosed each year with malignant gliomas, about half are alive 1 year after diagnosis, and 25% percent after two years.

I hope he lives at least long enough to see the presidential election. Frown

Has anyone noticed that he has absolutely disappeared off the news radar screen? Not one word about him. I have a hunch the next mention of his name will be an obit. No offense intended, but that seems to be how the media work.

The last story I recall surrounded his surgery at Duke University Medical Center.

This appeared in yesterday's Boston Globe.

I'm not surprised the Globe would continue reporting on him.

You know, I may oppose Kennedy politically. But damn, we need more men with his commitment and dedication. That vote speaks volumes.

I'm guessing that if Ted K. is still around and can hobble to the podium in August at the Democratic convention, he'll give a speech that will be one for the ages -- an enduring swan song for his generation of Kennedys -- along with a thunderous sendoff that will eclipse Obama's moment in the sun and that will all but drown out anything Hillary has to contribute.

Well, I remember the famous Bobby convention intro to the JFK memorial. 10-15 minutes of standing ovation. Problem was, Bobby thought it was for him.
