Gas in Mexico is more expensive than in the US and of inferior refining quality from what I remember. Last time I was there was a few years ago.

$100 fill up have been reality to me for a while. My van has a main fuel tank of 30 gallons, and a reserve of about 2-3 gallons.

The boat has a 50 gallon below deck fuel tank, and two 18 above deck tanks mounted away. I have another reserve tank that holds 12 gallons, but I don’t generally carry that one aboard. So all in all I can haul about 100 gallons need be Eek .

Gasoline at the marina generally runs about 25-30% than dry land stations. I don’t usually get gas at the marina; I haul the boat out and trailer it to a “dry” station. I think the quality of the marina’s gas is an issue also.

I have always believed that Americans have had a “great deal” paying the lower gas prices we have enjoyed for years rather than what fuel coats in Mexico, Canada, and especially Europe.

I am still sticking to my “ not changing a thing about my lifestyle until gas hits $5.00 a gallon ” line, but seeing is gas is already at just about $5.00 at the marina, and home heating oil is at about $4.00 I might have to change sooner than I expected. Razz

NNnnnAAaaAAAaa who am I kidding.

I aint' changing nuttin' Big Grin Roll Eyes

$43 ? That's only twenty quid ! I paid forty quid to fill my Skoda (same size as a Prius) just now. Wake up, America ! Big Grin

Seriously, who thinks a Prius is 'fuel efficient' ? Where's she driving it? Downhill in the midtown rush hour only? It's a nonsense. At least she's driving something fairly small, but she's paying a lot for the car. She's gaining nothing over a normal small car, particularly a diesel, in everyday normal driving save the self-deceiving feeling of moral superiority that the Prius gives her: " Look at me, I'm green". Rather curious, don't you think, that over here where we pay real money for gasoline we think the Prius is for poseurs? (The only one I know of belongs to a British film producer, who wants to present the 'right' image to his clients from California Wink). Wouldn't we all be driving one,or any 'hybrid', when fuel's at about $8 a US gallon ($2-18 a litre), if it were worthwhile to do so? Confused
