I know this is kind of a goofy question, but I'm considering applying for a job as a cashier at Wal-Mart, and I've heard both really good and really bad things about working there. Have any of you ever worked for Wal-Mart or have friends or family who do? I would really appreciate you sharing your experiences, positive or negative. Thanks! Smile

A friend who was on our Trivia team worked part-time for WalMart during college. He found it OK, but admits that he was looking for different things from his job than non-students.

KaelSaxen, who is more often on DiscussionPool than AnswerPool, is a student who currently works for WalMart. He has voiced several complaints, but may have a favorable opinion despite that. You should ask him in DP.

My husband was once a stockboy at Walmart (as an adult, not a teenager) and we had a really bad experience with it. However, a Walmart is only as good (or as bad) as it's general manager. Your Walmart might be different.
