I have been told that red cabbage is toxic to guinea pigs. Does anyone know if this is actually true? What about white/green cabbage?

According to the following site, guinea pigs should NOT be fed any meat or dairy products, lettuce, cabbage, beans, potatoes, rhubarb or chocolate (last 3 can be toxic).

Guinea pigs can eat cabbage, just in very small amounts because it causes excess gases to build up in their bellies. Guinea pigs can eat lettuce, just not the iceburg variety because it's high water content causes loose stool. Here is an excellant list of guinea safe veggies and fruits! Cavy Shopping List
