I have never had etheir as a pet. Hamsters OR Gerbils?!? What type? Male OR Female? I want one that is up when i'm up. Also I want one that likes to play, be held, and likes thous tubey things. Can any one help me?
I had the very same questions about 9 months ago, and decided on gerbils. They are more intelligent and more active than hamsters, plus less nocturnal. They also love the tubes, and making tunnels themselves in their nesting material. The drawbacks (if you see them that way) are that you need to get at least two as they are very social, and while they love playing with you and running all over you, they will not stay still in your hand for long.
I chose two males because they tend to fight less than the females.
Thanks Guys But Can Gerbils Go In A Hamster Cage? If been looking on the internet and like Gerbils go in like fish tanks no like Hamster cages which I Think whould be more fun to see because i can use thous tubey things to have him you know clime in.
