Hi! Smile Sometime this month, there's a pretty good chance I'll be going out of town for 2-4 months. I have 2 hamsters that have to go with me. I have never had to travel with them before. It's about a 6 hour drive, and I was wondering: Would it be better/safer for them to be in their cages, or do I need to put them in a little travel box?
Any advice is appreciated! Smile

I would go with a little travel box for safety reasons. While they would have more room to move around and feel a bit less constricted if you were to leave them in the cage, it could be more harmful if you were to get into an accident or even have to stop short. If there is any sudden movement, they are small enough to get thrown against the metal bars of the side of a cage and get pretty badly hurt. It's always best to travel in a smaller space with less room for movement...

Good luck with the travel!! Big Grin
