Well, whether it is or not, I have a question: how to you potty-train a rabbit? I've heard that it's possible to litter box train them, but how would one go about doing this? A dog understands you and relates cause and effect when you're housebreaking him, but how do you teach a rabbit?
Thanks!

Litter Training Your Rabbit

FAQ's about Litter Training your Rabbit

I don't have a rabbit, but I would imagine that it would be pretty easy. Those sites above talk about the methods of house training a bunny.

Good luck!!!!

As for the question about whether a rabbit is a rodent, I don't know - - I wonder though. When I tried to search and find out...there were alot of things that came up mentioning rabbits AND rodents. Tells me no, but I don't know. A rabbit is a mammal, but that doesn't exclude it from being a rodent. Hmmm...I say they're TOO CUTE to be rodents!! Big Grin

No, rabbits are not rodents. Rodents belong to the Order Rodentia, while rabbits belong to the Order Lagomorpha.

Thanks for the info! Not sure if I'll need it but my sister-in-law was talking about getting rid of her rabbit and if I took it, I just couldn't cage it up...

This may sound stupid but... how do cats and rabbits get along? In real life, I know the answer, but these are 6 and 8 year old cats who have never been outdoors and never caught a rabbit -maybe never even seen one. And they do okay with dogs.
Any thoughts?

Elexina, take a look HERE.

It seems that adult cats - that have basically outgrown their teen-aged agressions - are the best candidates to introduce to rabbits.

There are tons of discussion forums on the topic as well. Good luck.
