8 hoagie buns
1 lb. ground beef
8 oz. tomato sauce
1/2 of a onion soup mix
1/4 tsp. crushed dried oregano
1/4 tsp. dried crushed basil
1 egg, beaten
3/4 c. Ricotta or cream style cottage cheese, drained
1 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese

Cut thin slices off top of buns and hollow out centers, leaving 1/4 inch thick shells. Brown ground beef, drain. Add tomato sauce, soup mix and herbs. Cook over low heat 5 minutes. Uncover, cook until of desired thickness. Stir frequently.
In a bowl, combine egg, Ricotta cheese and 1/2 cup Mozzarella cheese. Spoon half the meat mixture into the rolls. Top with cheese mixture. Spoon in remaining meat mixture. Put bun tops back on, and wrap each sandwich individually in foil. Bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes
