The C.D. player in my car won't read any c.d's. It just keeps popping them out and saying error. I asked someone at an electronics store about it and he said that the lens is probably dirty. I tried using a disc that is supposed to clean the lens, but it just keeps popping that out too. What can I do to fix the problem or to clean the lens?

You'll probably have to take it to a pro for a full cleaning....If you have a Good Guys nearby, I'd go there....I have found the cleaning discs to be a good tool for maintainence, to prevent trouble, but not so useful as a solution after a problem has begun.... get it cleaned by a professional, then use the cleaning disc a few times a month to prevent dust buildup.( I have to schedule a cleaning myself...mine has started refusing to eject discs...I figure I have buildup in the mechanismRoll Eyes)

If your CD's are in good shape, no scratches on them and are clean, your CD player should play them after using the cleaning disk. All it is, is an optical sensor, it doesn't take much to clean it. The sensor may be damaged.

Unless you have a high end player, it's probably better to buy a new stereo instead of paying to have someone clean or repair it.

Thanks, bill, but it refuses to even play the cleaning disc. It ejects it too, and "error" it refuses to play all discs, whether they're store bought or burned.
