At least people who “marry” their close relatives (I don’t know that it’s actually legal to do anywhere) are consenting adults of legal age. However morally repugnant it might be, at least they are not children. The parents first say they “did all they could to keep the couple apart” then that they “reluctantly signed the consent.” Giving consent is the furthest thing from keeping the couple apart. I, too, am curious as to why on earth they would give consent if they were so dead set against the relationship.

I am amazed that someone could marry another person so young? I mean when I first saw the link I thought-ok its in a far off country
....and o yes my sister in law actually married her cousin ( so she didn't have to change her last name)-they have been married over 30 years and have 3 wonderful children-well adults now
and the old joke even they joked about was
" When 2 Mennonites get divorced, are they still cousins?"
