This is a message from my daughter- (Challie) I wonder if anyone in the U/K can help me. I took my c.s.es o,levels and c.e.es in 1984/85 and have mislaid my certificates. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to where I could go to get duplicates. I have tried A.Q.A but no-one seems to cover Berkshire area. Any help would be appreciated. I am getting desperate to trace them so I may further my career. Carolyn

What about the institution you took them at? They must have some kind of record from the exam board. Surely they could certify that, and that would be sufficient for some future educational institution or employer.
I will look out my own certificates and see if they have any contact information on them. I do know that when I started University in 1979, I didn't have my A'level certificates and the university accepted a letter from my High School as proof of my results.
As you took your exams more than 20 years ago, I would doubt very much whether your school or college still has a record of your results. Ask by all means and if they have retained the details, then they would almost certinly have no problem in issuing you with an official statement of your grades. Clearly though, your best bet is to contact the relevant examinations board or boards direct. They can issue replacement certificates but will almost certainly charge (if only as a deterrent to time wasters and to those who can't be bothered to ask their mum to post them on!). My daughter graduated from university in the UK this summer and I remember reading on the graduands' web pages before the degrees were handed out that if a replacement copy of the degree certificate were ever required, they would issue one for £50. But only once,. So when you get your replacement copies, look after them!
