I accidently ran my iron over the logo on a T-shirt and now there is a burnt scorched stain on the sole plate of my iron...I tried scrubbing it off with warm soapy water but it won't budge...any suggestions? Thanks.
I'd try (1) a sharp single-edged razor blade -- obvious risk of damaging teflon but try using it almost parallel to the plate (?); (2) a product containing the solvent xylene, like Goof-off or Oops!

If it's not teflon, if it's a chrome plate, you can use just about anything you want to clean it. I've used sandpaper to get burned on plastic off, and the iron worked well afterwards. If you are afraid to do that, try oven cleaner. But remember that you have to stop using your oven for the egg sandwiches then.

Ha-ha DG....I think it is a teflon plate...I hate those anyway I like the regular ones best...I will try goof-off...I do not wantr to ruin a new iron with a blade...I am not that good at even cutting a steak...let alone trying to perform delicate surgery on my iron.
