If you have a mechanic in the household, you know how hard it is to get grease, gasoline and hydraulic fluids out of clothes... after 8 years of trying to get Craig's clothes clean, I have found the magic formula- Use Dawn Dish liquid as a pretreater on the worst spots and then add 1/3 of a cup of Dawn to the wash load, along with your regular laundry detergent- longest cycle, warm water...The laundry soap prevents the Dawn from filling your utility room with suds and the Dawn breaks up the petroleum based stains without fading the fabric the way Pine Sol and Coke do (Yes, I've tried everything)

I'm so glad you added this. Before I got to this part, I had flashbacks to my laundry room looking like an episode of I Love Lucy.
