This stuff looks great in the commercials, but even at Sam's Club it isnt' cheap. Can someone who's used it please tell me if it works like it does in the commericals? Thanks. ************************************************** 09-11-02, 11:44 PM stanbee It will make your yellow things white, but as you expected, not perfect. Leaves stains. Still an improvement on towels used to wipe out omelette pans etc. About 75% of the stains were removed.
Uneffective for removing lubricating grease stains on a pillow.
Buy a small one at Bed Bath Beyond with a discount coupon before you get the lifetime supply at Sam's.
However, ZAP for porcelain stains is amazing. Renewed a tub, sink and toilet after trying everything over ten years. A few minutes work. Perfect.

09-12-02, 06:53 AM Fritzzs I've used Oxy Clean at my store on furniture and at home on carpet, and its great...Highly recommend it... Haven't tried the OJ yet... Sams- I find that about half the things there can be brought cheaper at regular stores, and you don't have to buy so damn much....In my book, its pretty much a rip-off...but where you are probably not... Cosco- that be de place...
09-12-02, 09:10 AM Texan-In-Exile I've tried Orange Clean - it's OK but i'm not that impressed.
The best thing I've found so far to get out tough stains and to remove gummy residue is:
De-Solv-It (about $3.96 at Wal-Mart)! 09-12-02, 10:35 AM clarebear I tried oxyclean on my white canvas couch. It didn't work. It made the color around it a little brighter but the stains still stayed.
I had some socks with the red Hanes Logo at the toe. Put in a load of whites. All the whites turned pink. (That was not the first time the socks had been washed and bleach never did that) So be careful.
I still have the unused tub. You can have it you want.. didn't work for me. smile
09-12-02, 11:21 AM gojenni714 I love OxiClean. I've never had a problem with it and use a scoop of it in every load of laundry. It definitely makes my whites whiter.
I bought the Orange Clean foam degreaser. I've yet to find a degreaser that actually works great, but this one did a better job than all the others I've tried.
Hope that helps!
09-12-02, 11:21 AM esencia to me, oxyclean is not worth the $$$ I use it to wash my work shirts(I am a cook) and all it does is maybe fade them out. It does not work on grease stains as mentioned in the ad. The ad is gimmick.
A restaraunt owner suggested Iron Out. You can purchase it at hardware stores. She said it works absolute wonders on your whites! more info: Iron Out
09-12-02, 11:54 AM displacedNYer Thank you all for your help. Up here I only have two choices to purchase OxyClean - from the TV or from Sam's, and in both cases its a whhoooollleee llloottt of OxyClean! I think I will save my money. Thanks again!
09-12-02, 04:52 PM Yankees15 My mom used a product called L.O.C to get my baseball uniforms clean. It worked great. It was sold by Amway. If you don't mind the sales spiel, you may want to find out if they still make the stuff.
09-12-02, 10:45 PM displacedNYer I think my aunt sells Amway (I haven't seen her in 2 years so I'm not sure.) When I go home next week I'll look into it. Thanks.
09-13-02, 09:16 AM Cris5 I'm basically a slob so I have been very grateful for Oxyclean. It took some bad stains out of my cotton tops this summer -- coffee, chocolate, mustard -- without a problem. Soak it for a day or two, wash it out, and the stain's gone.
I'm not nuts about OrangeClean. It works OK. I prefer Pledge for cleaning the wood around our house.
