I threw all of them out due to dust issues. The mini-blind cleaner (basically fits between the blinds) didn't always clean around the strings and it is time consuming to do a houseful of blinds. So when we did have them I took them outside and used the hose on them. I resorted to seasonal cleaning of those things. Sometimes it required a dip in the kiddy pool full of soapy water (kiddy pool for he dog in summer) followed by hanging and hosing rinse and then letting them drip dry. I suggest doing that first on cleaning day. But, since we leave the windows open most of the year we finally gave blinds up as a bad idea. Now we use linen curtains (similar to bed sheet linen, about 350 thread count) simple rods, hemming and very easy to pull off the rod and toss into the wash machine. A few windows have thicker material, similar to denim, just a tad thinner. And of course sheers for lots of light - all simple rectangular panels, a wide hem at top for rod, all easy to wash. I stay away from faric that is dry clean only.
