Sorta discovered this accidently... Recently brought an old (dated 1877) leather large trunk that had some real heavy odors....

Put in about a cup of bleach in a bowl, set it inside and closed it...Couple of weeks later, all odor was gone...Completely....

Newspapers in the trunk will help absorb the odors too.

Sure the newspapers absorb the odors, but bleach vapors will kill the spors and permanetly elimanate the problem...
