I have a wall clock, Regulator, and have misplaced the directions for setting it. My husband attempted to correct the time, and now it rings one more hour than the correct time (i.e. rings twice when it's only 1 o'clock). I remember it had something to do with pressing the little red button on the back. Can anyone help me get it right. TIA, crossroads37

Do you know what brand the clock is? That would be very helpful. Big Grin

While not a clock expert, this has worked for me. Mover the minute hand back, counter clockwise, past the 12 and then forward. Wait until the clock has completed striking the hour and repeat until the right hour chimes. This means, in your case, you will have to go through 11 cycles.

Every time the minute hand passes 12, it advances the counter wheel or gear that selects the chime count. No matter where the hour hand is.

If you keep going forward, the hour hand keeps moving forward and you will be chasing that hour forever. I guess that some clocks may have an "Release" that would keep the idex wheel from indexing while setting time. Some clocks may have a manual chime trip that advances the chime counter one notch with each manual trip.

No warranty expressed or implied.
