Help! My kids decided it was fun to rub a candle on my computer screen! I have tried a wash cloth with glass cleaner on it, but that seemed to smear it! ( No, I didn't spray it directly on my screen! ) Does anyone have a thrifty idea on how I can remove it?! It is very nerve-wracking! Thanks! Skye.
OMG! What type of monitor do you have? Is the screen glass or is it the flexible plastic stuff?
If it is glass, use the edge of an old credit card to scrape as much as you can and then a piece of dry denim to rub off the rest, or ask at the hardware store for wax remover (Yes, there really is such a thing)
For the LCD screens, the flexible ones, that's scary and I would suggest that you ask in the computer forum, or call your local computer repair place.

Mine is glass. I will try the CC and see if it works... but what does the denim do? Just an old pr of jeans? Or can I use a pr that is still being worn? TY Skye.
Denim is good for polishing glass and plastic surfaces because it has enough texture to clean (with a bit of elbow grease) but is not abrasive enough to scratch and typically does not leave lint.

i good degreaser from auto stores would cut that. get it by the gallon cause you will use it on the stove and other greasy stuff. it works good here in calif. we get purple cleaner from kragen auto this stuff is great spray it on and watch it melt off. best degreaser ive found. no it wont harm stuff i even use it on carpet stains , works great on dried blood too.
