I discovered a few minutes ago that I had run out of "SoftScrub", so I substituted my liquid dishwasher detergent (I use Kirkland liquid gel from Costco) and not only did it work- it worked BETTER and rinsed off easier than the SoftScrub- and the price of a 125 ounce bottle of automatic dishwasher liquid is about the same as a 16 or 20 ounce bottle of the other stuff- I'll probably never buy another bottle of liquid scouring cleanser.

Awesome tip S! I would think that even on tough stuff, leaving the liquid sitting for a few minutes would soften up just about anything!

Eek I can just see MrsS's dishwasher contents liquifying and going down the drain, followed by the metal drum lining, until nothing is left but the hose sticking out of the drain! Eek
