You'll probably find alot of responses with many tried and true things. What I will suggest sounds really too basic, but I find it works with so many things...try a bar of Ivory soap and a small scrub brush. Don't wet the pants too much, use quite a bit of soap and just scrub them. If it doesn't come out, try again after they dry. Don't put them in the dryer at all until it's gone (if you do, you will only set the stain even further).

Lynda - If your brother has problems with blood on his clothes, perhaps, laundry is NOT the big issue here!

BTW, I'm just kidding! Wink

no, the problem is having friends who fall down a flight of stairs and putting their arm through the window at the bottom. Wink

If Lydia's suggestion doesn't work try this:
soak the denim in a mixture of 1 quart water, 1 teaspoon of liquid hand soap, and 1 tablespoon of ammonia. You can also pour straight hydrogen peroxide on the stain but I don't recommend it for colored fabrics as it can bleach colors.
