I had a "free" carpet cleaning and demonstration yesterday for a Kirby vacuum. We didn't buy one, but I'd sure like to find out a comparable vacuum for less money. Our current one sucks and blows at the same time! Pun intended.

I don’t know how much the Kirby model you were looking into costs, but the Oreck XL® Classic vacuum cleaner costs about $300.00 and really sucks. (Pun intended Wink )

We have had one for several years and it still works great. The free portable vacuum that came with it, well that thing blew so we got rid of it Razz .

Look into used/refurbished Kirbys You may even find some in thrift stores. Kirbys seem to last forever. I know a few people who use 50+ year old ones.
