Put some water in the pot and boil. That should loosen up the burned food. If the burned on stuff is really stubborn, put some bleach in the pot and let stand for several hours. That works every time.

another idea is baking soda. Put a thick layer on the bottom of the pot and add a little water to make it a paste and let it set all day or over night
