CLOUDY GLASSES -- Get rid of soapy film on glassware by shaking a mixture of 1/4 cup vinegar with 1 teaspoon loose tea leaves in the glass or vase. Transfer the mixture from one glass to the next.
Another site said: Fill with warm water, and add an effervescent denture-cleaning tablet. Then shake. The fizzing scours away the residue. Rinse or let stand before emptying for sparkling results. If the vase or other item has a very narrow neck, break up the denture tablet first.
Another way to clean cut glass is to crush some eggshells, pop them into glass to be cleaned, add a little water and 'swish' for your life. This is particularly good for vases and decanters.

One way to keep vases from getting cloudy in the first place is to add a little bleach to your flower's water. It won't hurt the flowers at all..(unless you overdo it with the bleach). Just a little bit is all you'll need. Florists actually add bleach to the buckets that white flowers are kept in. Believe it or not, it helps keep the 'whites white'......that is, the white flowers white or course!
Haveing been in the Antique business for a number of years, I have come across countless super good cut-crystal vases that people have let become cloudy... I have found "NOTHING" that will clear them up, including all of the abouve ideas... Usually they have been let go too long for those remedies to work... I suggest that if a person wants to use good crystal vases, then slip a clear plastic bag inside before filling with water..THAT IS THE ONLY SURE-FIRE SAFE WAY...
