My wife and some friends met at a Bill and Glorial Gaither Concert in London recently and even tho we sat way back up high, I thought this should be ok but before the second song my wife was stuffing kleenex tissues in her ears Big Grin for the singers were either off key or the Amps were up too high-I kept thinking that perhaps Billy Joel who was playing the next night there would be a bit quieter CoolLOL but maybe not...

Does anyone else notice that sometimes the singing is too loud at music concerts???

I do recall that Peter Townsend of the Rock group the Who once said that the reason he became deaf was because he had his guitar amp too high Roll Eyes

Is the singing any louder than the rest of the sounds on stage though? I haven't considered any singing intolerablly loud or anything. Especially from far away.

Yes, and have you noticed? The further away one gets, the quieter it seems... Confused

1) All Rock concerts are far too loud, in my humble opinion 2)You are quite correct about Townsend's comment.

Whenever I hear music booming out from a car with closed windows 100 yards away, I am reminded that the sad occupant/s are 1) trying to tell me what wonderfully switched-on individuals they are, by impressing upon me their lofty musical aspirations, and 2) are desperately attempting to batter their three or four, still feebly-twitching, brain cells into final oblivion...nota bene: One never hears Mozart or Schubert being blasted out to shatter the peace of the unfortunate inhabitants of Neptune...I wonder why?
PS It occurs to me that the very first primitive musical instrument (after the human voice, of course) was the drum (not in the shape & style of a Ludwig, naturally). Since that is the main instrument which I hear when being compelled to experience the aforementioned vehicular auditory assault, I can only assume that here we have a direct evolutionary correlation between instrument & car driver...

I've actually experienced such a thing. And it was in the city, if I remember. It was as loud as any other type of music being blasted from a car. So there. Wink

Big Grin I guess for me is I start to wonder if it would be better to stay away from the loud singing and simply stick to going to a live Classical music in a nearby city?

You have one up on me, Jusork...touché!
But only the once, I see...out of interest, how come you noticed just that one instance...?..I think that it merely goes to prove that it is the exception which proves the rule. I hear rap blasting out almost on a daily basis, from cars waiting at traffic lights in front of, or behind me, with both their windows and mine fully closed... Next most popular music cranked up loud enough to awaken Moby Dick is Rock, of various types...Roll Eyes... what are these lost souls trying to prove, if not that empty vessels make the most noise...?... Confused ... Big Grin

Yeah, that's true. Rap and rock are blasted much more often. I don't understand why people do it either and I don't know any one who actually likes it that loud. I do like my music a little loud sometimes, enough to feel like it's surrounding me, but having it so that you can't hear even a loud noice is just too much. Cars with big subwoofers are especially unnecessary. I wouldn't need to feel the music that much.
