I have a mixed tape that a friend gave me in elementary school and it has a song on it that I have been trying to identify for years. It's a pop/dance song performed by a female.
Chorus
"you wanna be a party girl, party girl tonight. don't let it touch your heart, don't let it touch your soul, no you save it all for rock & roll. don't let it touch your world, honey, you're a party girl."
I'm not sure if those are 100% correct, I lost the tape so i'm going by memory! Thanx! -J
Whew, this one's touch. I guess none of the other experts here know either. I've been searching in various ways for a couple hours today and yesterday and still nothing. Do you think you've probably forgotten a lot of the lyrics to it? Is there a word or group of lyrics that you're more sure about than others by any chance?
And some questions. Were there real instruments or was it more of an electronic beat? And was it upbeat or more of a ballad or some of both? Was the voice pretty high pitched or was it lower?

"..."Party Girl," a curiously passionate argument against physical passion ("Don't let him know you save it all for rock & roll" is dispensed like spiritual advice from a big sister)..." - Review of Rachel Sweet's album "And Then He Kissed Me"
