Have you heard of a song called
"Tiamo"
by a female singer.
If so, could yu plz provide me with the artist's name?

It goes something like:
I remember, when I saw your face;
you caught me smiling, I had to look away;
I cannot resist...

The title of the song should be written as two words, not one, which is probably why you couldn't find it. "Ti amo" means "I love you" in Italian and was recorded by Gina G in about 1997. here are the lyrics (unless my memory fails me):

I remember endless sunsets on fire
endless nights of passion, burning with desire
I close my eyes and I can see your smile
Sky is clear, ocean blue
Take me back where the magic is
Let me hold you in my arms
Under the stars
Rainly days and lonely nights
Only darkness - there's no light without you in my life
Ti amo

thankyou
for the quickee help CPF
and finally (after abt a decade) the mystery to what Ti Amo means has been revealed to me.

Now I remember, my vice principal was quite fond of Italian music. Very soothing and truly melodious _ or atleast the numbers she'd listen to.
However, I gather Gina G is a star of tinsel town......right?

Nice job, Colin!

Gina G's music isn't really Italian (there's lots of popular dance music similar to Gina G. in Italy though.) She's Australian and I'm not sure how popular if at all she is in Italy. (She's popular in the UK though.) I think she just has a song with an Italian title. And excuse my ignorance, but I'm not exactly sure what tinsel town is. I found that it's a play and a movie. Eh?

Jusork - "Tinsel Town" is slang for Hollywood.
You can imagine how it got that name! Wink

Ah, thanks, Tex. You rock as usual.

So I guess the answer would be that she's not from Tinsel Town?

"Strip away the phony tinsel of Hollywood and you'll find the real tinsel underneath." - Oscar Levant

"The strength and beauty of his musical accomplishment has long been overshadowed by his public personna. For Oscar Levant, his own music has been silenced by his presumed character: the acerbic crank on the Jack Paar Show; the Broadway showman and Hollywood star; the author of preposterously acute and funny books; the radio and television ringmaster; the concert pianist and Gershwin specialist. No kaleidoscope could serve these many split images." - ClassicalMusic.net

Described by the InternetMovieDatabase as a "Pianist, composer and bizarre wit in movies, radio and TV."

"Oscar Levant's mercurial personality can be summed up by two of his most oft-repeated witticisms: the self-aggrandizing "In some moments I was difficult, in odd moments impossible, in rare moments loathsome, but at my best unapproachably great;" and the self-deprecating 'I am the world's oldest child prodigy.' " - BarnesandNoble.com

Some quotes by Levant

"My psychiatrist once said to me, 'Maybe life isn't for everyone'."

"I am no more humble than my talents require."

"The only difference between the Democrats and the Republicans is that the Democrats allow the poor to be corrupt, too."

"There's a fine line between genius and insanity. I have erased this line."
