After the revival in the 1990's of Brit Pop with bands such as Oasis is the era of quality and original Brit Pop now dead?

God I hope not. I hope teen pop comes back into the mainstream very soon, so alternative can go back into the backround where it belongs. I say this only so I can enjoy my favorite bands without having to see them on every cover of J-14 and Tiggerbeat. Mad

Quality bands will never be dead. I don't know if your standard of quality is high, but I wouldn't say the Brit-pop bands today are untalented or unrespectable. Now for original, there are some who don't try as hard, but I really think there are more who do and the Brit-pop those bands make is pretty unique. Some to give you an idea: Placebo, Doves, Coldplay(one of those on the more unoriginal side sometimes I think), Travis, South, Mercury Rev, Ash, etc.

As it happens I don't think that the age of great Brit pop is dead by any means. Over the last few years we have produced some cracking bands which have broad appeal and have produced some great music. Cold Play, Travis and David Grey for example. Great stuff. Good music is good music whatever the decade.
