One infamous case that comes to my mind was in 1977. The Sex Pistols had the number one single, "God Save the Queen." It was banned by the BBC and was not even listed on the music charts. The number one spot was just left blank! In addition, in June of 1977 during the Queen’s Silver Jubilee, The Sex Pistols played a mini concert on a riverboat on the Thames, which was raided by the police.
